Instem have signed a partner agreement with Business Objects. Business Objects makes it possible for us to offer a wider range of ad hoc and pre-defined reporting solutions for your users. For example, we can develop a "Universe" for your application that simplifies the access to the data and then train your users in the use of the Business Objects toolset and the Universe. Alternatively, we can develop specific reports to pre-defined requirements, allowing your users to access the data and view it in ways that you have already defined. Some examples of possible applications would be:
- The QA view, where a Business Objects "Universe" is designed to give a QA user a natural language view of the data. Some standard reports would be provided but also the facility to make general queries without the need to understand the details of the database tables. Report examples could include Changed Values Only or Out of Limits Values Only.
- The Normal Range view again with a "Universe" designed to let the laboratory user interact with the relevant sub sets of the database with some standard and some general views of the data. Normal Ranges could be calculated and data could be displayed highlighting values outside the normal range. Graphical and tabular views can be made available to help users select the required break points.
Business Objects offers many additional features that allow users access to data across an Internet or Intranet connection as well as providing facilities to distribute reports automatically and to have intelligent agents spot trends and conditions and report them when they arise. Many more applications are possible using these decision support tools to provide tailored access to your data.
