Nycomed GmbH to Upgrade to Provantis 8™
Long-standing Instem client upgrading to latest version of Instem’s world-leading pre-clinical software
CONSHOHOCKEN, PA – January 19, 2009 – Leading pre-clinical IT solutions provider, Instem, is pleased to announce that Nycomed GmbH (Nycomed) is moving to Provantis 8.
Nycomed is a privately owned global pharmaceutical company, focussing on branded medicines in the areas of gastroenterology, respiratory diseases, inflammation diseases, pain, osteoporosis and tissue management. Nycomed has been an Instem client for over 10 years and is currently using Provantis 6.5 at its Research & Development center in Barsbuttel, Germany.
Nycomed is upgrading to Provantis 8 to take advantage of the latest enhancements to the In-Life, Reproductive Toxicology, Foetal Pathology and Pathology modules.
Deborah Ockert, Head of Rodent Toxicology at Nycomed GmbH said “Instem has been a key supplier to us for many years and we are looking forward to benefiting from the functionality that Provantis 8 has to offer.”
Nycomed is planning a number of IT infrastructure changes this year and to accommodate this the Provantis 8 upgrade project has been split into 2 distinct phases. Phase 1, the Upgrade Planning phase, which includes installation and training, begins this month. Phase 2, the Production Phase, will start in Q3 of this year following completion of Nycomed’s infrastructure changes.
