CTC Laboratory Systems, a group company of ITOCHU Begins Offering ProvantisT To Japanese Market; Migration Also Planned For Their Current ToxStaff 21T Customers
Instem, a leading global information solutions provider, announced today it has entered a partnership agreement with the ITOCHU Corporation to sell, market & deploy Provantis™ in the Japanese market through its group company, CTC Laboratory Systems (CTCLS).
CTCLS currently offers ToxStaff 21™ to its customers, a solution developed by CTCLS to help reduce time and costs for Japanese non-clinical laboratories.
"We are honored to be working as partners with ITOCHU and CTCLS in offering Provantis™ to the Japanese marketplace," comments Mike Harwood, Executive Vice President at Instem. "What made this especially exciting was that during the selection process several major Japanese organizations approached Instem and CTCLS about bringing Provantis™ into Japan. One of those inquiries has advanced, is a project of significant size and we are looking forward to making an announcement of their purchase this year."
ITOCHU and CTCLS began their selection process in 2004, evaluating every major non-clinical toxicology/pathology solution available on the market. Under the terms of the agreement, the Provantis™ solution will be localized for the Japanese market and CTCLS will be the primary distributor providing local support for the integrated system. CTCLS will be fully backed by Instem's technical, marketing and business development resources.
"Our objective for customers and the growing market, fueled by heightened merger & acquisition activity, is to offer a global solution that is completely integrated, flexible and one that is proven," stated Shinichi Takahashi, General Manager at CTCLS. "Provantis™ by Instem gives us that, and more. It will allow CTCLS to not only upgrade our customers with confidence, but offer a world-class solution to new clients to strengthen our leadership position."
The Japanese pre-clinical software market is making investments to modernize, and in many cases to replace their existing systems. This is primarily due to growing regulatory requirements, the need to provide higher levels of efficiencies and for globalization. Organizations in Japan are demanding access to fully integrated modules, proven 21 CFR Part 11 functionality, and intuitive interfaces while reducing the amount of customization normally associated with Japanese systems.
Instem has established itself in the Toxicology marketplace as the developer of Provantis™ - the industry-leading software system designed for companies engaged in non-clinical safety evaluation studies. Instem's customer base includes the leading pharmaceutical, chemical and contract research organizations across sites worldwide.
As part of Instem's overall corporate growth strategy, entering into a partnership with the multi-billion dollar conglomerate ITOCHU gains Instem access to new channels across the globe. Instem will look to grow its core business while continuing to explore wider R&D solution opportunities with other ITOCHU partners and customers.
